- 200g Portobello mushrooms
Step 1Cook the potatoes in boiling salted water until tender and drain. Mash potatoes, gradually add the butter,cream and season with salt. set aside.
Step 2Into a large frying pan,on medium-high heat,melt butter and saute onions,carrots,garlic and bay leaf for a minute.Throw in minced meat and stir-fry for a minute. Pour in Worcestershire sauce and add pepper and salt to taste. Incorporate mushrooms,add flour and saute till well combined.
Step 3Change heat to medium-low,add broth,bring to the boil,and let the dish simmer until it thickens and meat is tender,stirring occasionally. Taste for salt and papper and discard bay leaf.
Step 4Turn info an ovenproof dish,then spread the potato on top.With a fork,score the potato in a decorative pattern.Cook in a preheated oven at 200°C/400°F for about 20 to 30 minutes until the topping is golden and the meat mixture bubbling. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 20 minutes before serving.
