Ingredients

  • 200g Portobello mushrooms

Steps

  • Step 1
    Cook the potatoes in boiling salted water until tender and drain. Mash potatoes, gradually add the butter,cream and season with salt. set aside.
  • Step 2
    Into a large frying pan,on medium-high heat,melt butter and saute onions,carrots,garlic and bay leaf for a minute.Throw in minced meat and stir-fry for a minute. Pour in Worcestershire sauce and add pepper and salt to taste. Incorporate mushrooms,add flour and saute till well combined.
  • Step 3
    Change heat to medium-low,add broth,bring to the boil,and let the dish simmer until it thickens and meat is tender,stirring occasionally. Taste for salt and papper and discard bay leaf.
  • Step 4
    Turn info an ovenproof dish,then spread the potato on top.With a fork,score the potato in a decorative pattern.Cook in a preheated oven at 200°C/400°F for about 20 to 30 minutes until the topping is golden and the meat mixture bubbling. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 20 minutes before serving.
